Your first AI automation should remove a queue, not impress a room
How to choose a small workflow that saves time without putting critical decisions at risk.

The best first automation is usually boring. It handles a repeated handoff, creates a clean record and leaves a human in control of the important decision.
Find the queue
Look for work that waits in an inbox: enquiries to classify, documents to summarise or follow-ups to draft. A visible queue gives you a baseline and a way to measure improvement.
Set a stopping rule
Define what the system may do, what it must never do and when it should ask a person. Reliability begins at the boundary.
